Toby Freeland, MEng
A distinguished expert in aeronautical engineering, Toby combines elite-level soaring experience with cutting-edge engineering expertise. As former Lead Engineer at BAE Systems' PHASA-35 program, he developed mission-critical software for stratospheric flight trials, specializing in power usage optimization and environmental modeling.
With an Imperial College London background in aeronautical engineering and expertise in Reinforcement Learning for high-aspect wing control, Toby brings unique insights to aviation challenges. As a current British Gliding Team member and former World #1 ranked pilot with over 1,100 hours of soaring experience, he bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
